I’ve fought with a combination of stopping the last little bit of grain loss and having fines in corn with all my STS combines. Last year I was going to try aftermarket concaves to fix this problem. My local parts dealer suggested trying the Bison separator grates first. It only took a few minutes running running with them installed to see that they had great potential and after them two seasons I’d never run an STS machine without them. It is obvious that losses are immediately lower and settings don’t need nearly as mush fine tuning through that day and across varieties, both with corn and beans. What was unexpected to me was the reduction of fines in corn. I had the usual procedures of changing to slow speed sprockets, swept back paddles, etc. and this made far more difference than all of that. It’s obvious loading trucks and sweeping bins how much cleaner the corn is. ” - Aaron Easton
